SELECTION PROCESS
All applicants are placed into the selection process. The amount of open spots changes each year depending on enrollment. The spots are first filled by "first priority" enrollment. The next spots are filled equally from the three Learning Communities: Herman Learning Community, Bernal Learning Community and Davis Learning Community. We strive to balance our enrollment as 1/3 from each community, male to female ratio, and no more than 1/3 students who are GATE. We take a maximum of 10 students per grade level from each school, so no school is negatively impacted with enrollment. Out of District applications are selected when criteria cannot be met through currently enrolled students in the Oak Grove School District.
For those families not selected, we keep your applications on a pending waitlist in the event that a spot opens up. We fill the open spot with a student that meets the above mentioned selection process. For example: If a 5th grade, female, GATE student declines from the Davis Learning Community, we would fill the spot with another female, GATE student from that Learning Community. We do not inform applicants "where they are on the waitlist". Applications are not placed in priority order, all applications on the "waitlist" have equal priority.
